Andrea Eschen works in a not-for-profit international health organization focusing on women’s reproductive health and empowerment and has enjoyed the good fortune to spend much of her professional life traveling in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She is the mother of an adopted son and two stepchildren who, along with her husband, were born in Colombia. Her writing endeavors focus on digging into family history to better understand the present, see what we carry from past generations into the current ones, and explore the meaning of family. She lives and works in Washington, DC.
